Puerto Princesa, Palawan
I was excited for all the day trips, island hopping tours and adventures Palawan has to offer. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. At least not to the extent I would have wish for. Nevertheless, our stay in the Philippines, even though I still had an amazing time, was very different form what we imagined due to something we could have predicted but didn't. And it's not weather.
Port Barton, Palawan
Port Barton surprised me! From rustic beach shacks to kayaking adventures & Filipino karaoke parties, this hidden gem stole my heart.
The biggest fail turned out to be such a blessing! Our first experience with a really bad hotel and really bad food. We made few bad choices on our first day in China but after relocating, we enjoyed our time in Shanghai.
Despite a lot of security checks, we saw some of the most impressive building complexes in China.

The first stop in our gap year was Tokyo, Japan. We visited the main squares as well as the more traditional parts of the city. The highlight for me was The Making of Harry Potter studio tour.
More traditional Japanese, more tourists and more adventure. We saw Fushimi Inari Shrine, Otagi Nenbutsu Temple, and so much more.
